Sign petition for Robin Hood Tax

This is from an email I received this morning.

The campaign for the so-called ‘Robin Hood Tax’ is now hugely popular in many countries (www.robinhoodtax.org).  The French have made an FTT a priority for their presidency of the G20 and there is a real chance of a breakthrough in the coming six months.

But to win we need your help once again.

We need to ramp up the pressure on the G20, and are hoping to produce an open letter signed by at least a 1000 economists across the world. In order to achieve this, we need your help! The letter will be addressed to G20 Finance Ministers and Bill Gates, and we are hoping to have it ready by their next meeting on 14/15 April 2011. The reason it is addressed to Bill Gates as well as the G20 Ministers is because President Sarkozy has asked Bill Gates to write a report for the G20 on the FTT.

We would like to invite to to join hundreds of other economists and sign up to the letter to show your support for an FTT.  To see a copy of the letter and a list of who has signed so far, please email
Euderzo@oxfam.org.uk; there are French, German, Spanish and Portuguese translations available on request.

Thank you very much for your support and for helping the campaign.
