Interesting spike between 1986-1988 for the USA. Any ideas on what caused that?

Looking at this chart, I don’t wonder that Germany is leading the way for austerity measures which punishes everyone but the very rich. The USA will be getting on that bus very soon if the Republicans get their way.

An hint as to the motivations of the German political decision makers. (even though we’re still dwarfed by the land of opportunity)

On January 20, 1981, Reagan became president, soon afterward he busted the flight controllers union.

Soon after he dropped the tax rates on the wealthy by some very large percentage in one go and its been downhill for the US since then

Yes, Alice, we concur. The graph changes dramatically when Reagan was elected, which clearly indicates oligarchy was ready, the underlying cabal sprang into action on all preassigned fronts.

Yes Garrett – The prearranged Cabal frontmen – a cabal of sycophantic conservatives not the least of which was Friedman and Greenspan (and we know the rest of the hereditary lineage by now) with the latest in the dishonourable lineage of oligarchic servants still residing in power commanding the same remedies – Mr Ben Bernanke.
Had the gall to wade in and bailout the rich and attempts now to remove the impact of imports from the model in his small textbook. When decisions are made behind closed doors in a privately run Fed no explanations are needed.

Write on, Alice. I contend that we know what to do. Modern, information-age democracy includes the economy. We do not wish to stunt success and the direct route to rationalization is removal of all subsidies so we can figure out where we are and proceed with establishing mechanisms for focusing the intellect of billions to ranking of problems and then determining courses of action. These first steps will provide experience for selecting management of actions to be taken. Farther out in the future is application of huge profits to civilization as the source of funding.
