Ratio between CEOs and average workers in world by country

Economists sometimes lump Canada in with the United States; that is a mistake. I would be interested in knowing our ratio in Canada. (I notice in the US bankers make $20 m + and in Canada they make about $10 m+. Canada is different in many ways from the US: we have universal health care, we have a parliamentary form of government, our banks did not commit fraud during the Financial Crisis, moneyed interests have not taken over our politics, we have decriminalized marijuana, about 300,000 immigrants enter our country every year, etc.) Are we not worth our own statistics?

And that is why our daughters are emigrating to Canada.

Not so fast, JJEHR, I live in Canada too where certain select families run the country under the guise of “democracy”. Moneyed interests have always run the show and bankers pretend to be saints while creating money out of nothing and ripping us off. Our native people have been dumped into collection areas called “reserves” and are worse off than Palestinians in Gaza.

What I find interesting here is that JJER and Helge Nome posts give very different views of the Canadian situation. To me the obvious answer is that their different experience has created a mindset that results in different interpretations of what they may think they are observing. This is why in my opinion it is so important to have meaningful conversation not only between opposing views but also between similar views. Again I think this applies both in the secular world as well as the academic world if democracy and equality are to be improved.
