Billionaires’ wealth as a % of GDP

I wish you wouldn’t post this kind of information. My wealthy friends look at this chart and despair, seeing Russia doing so well. “Where did we go wrong?” they cry, clutching their pearls and emitting faint gasps of anquish. I try to explain to them that while our shared goal is a noble one (100 people owning 80 percent of the wealth of the US) we are really doing quite well. These guys really aren’t that bright but they start to get it when I point out that the gdp of the US is somewhere north of $20 trillion, while pathetic little Russia has a gdp about one-tenth of that. “Would you rather have half a dollar or a quarter of a sawbuck?” i ask them. There’s some head-scratching and old Bill has to get out a pencil and paper to work out what I’m talking about but even he gets in the end. This example usually consoles them for a while but they alwasy go back to lamenting that the billilonaires in Russia have a much higher percentage of all the wealth and weeping quietly into their caviar. By the way, Beluga seasoned with a few salty tears isn’t bad.
