Pavlina R.Tchemevra is the source of the data for this chart which appeared in September 2014 in the New York Times in an article by Neil Irwin “The Benefits of Economic Expansions Are Increasingly Going to the Richest Americans”.  Can anyone source or provide an updated version of this chart?

The reason for this trend is of greater importance than its updated news. It seems to me that due to the reduced opportunities of the poorer families to study and become professionals and also to live in places which are shared by different more affluent classes of people, that the existing large division between rich and poor will grow. The benefits that rich people get from speculation in natural resources, particularly land values should not be allowed to continue and this change in the unethical use and mis-use of our natural resources may be obtained by the introduction of a tax on land values. Land owners should be aware of the amount of harm they are storing up as in the anthem about the grapes of wrath! Land is a gift of nature not of first grabbers.
